Preparation tips & tricks

Our versatile plant-based mince is cooked in four easy steps:

Add the entire content of a VeggoFix Mince package (200g dry mix) to a bowl and mix it with 250ml (a cup) of water. Let it hydrate over 3 minutes for a firmer mince.

Pour 1-2 tbsp of oil in a frying pan or in the mixture (when baking in the oven).

Shape the mixture into burger patties, balls, spread it on a baking tray, stir fry it, etc.

Fry at medium heat for 6-12 min or bake at 200C for 15-20 min.

Bigger shapes take longer to cook through. For best results, flip the shapes when they are golden brown.

Stir fried mince is ready to use in sauces and other dishes in 4-6 minutes.

We recommend to add at least one teaspoon of oil in the pan to prevent the mixture sticking to the pan and to enhance the flavor a bit.

However, oil, or any other type of fat, is not a requirement when baking in the oven. Or if you use a good non-stick frying pan and cooking spray.

For best results add  a neutral tasting oil, but any type of oil you prefer can be used, like extra virgin olive, sunflower oil or canola oil.

You can keep the uncooked mixture for 2-3 days in the fridge.

Yes. In fact, this is the preferred cooking method for many people.

Add water and maybe some oil to the dry mix as usual.

Grill for 8 to 10 minutes with the lid closed.

We do not recommend to grill VeggoFix Mince over an open flame without precooking.

You can quickly finish precooked burger patties (in a pan) on the barbeque over a medium heat.

Add extra oil to the mix, on the outside of the burger patties and/or the grill to prevent burning.

VEGGOFIX MINCE mixes have a balanced nutrient profile: not so many calories, good amounts of beneficial nutrients such as plant protein and fiber, and almost no saturated fat.

Our products do not contain any GMOs (genetically modified organisms), artificial colors, dangerous flavor enhancers, preservatives or sweeteners.

You can add in anything you like in our versatile plant-based mince as long as you add less than the weight of the dry mix.

Put in a bit less water when adding wet ingredients and a bit more water when adding dry ingredients.

We recommend fresh/dry herbs and vegetables like dill, parsley, hot peppers, red beets, spinach, onions, celery, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, and so on, grated or finely chopped.

Soy sauce, peanut butter, (vegan) cheese, crushed peanuts or almonds,  seeds (e.g. flax, mustard, cumin), grated potatoes, cooked rice or chickpeas, can work well too.

For pasta sauces, burritos, quesadillas, stews, stuffed peppers, moussaka, lasagna and so on, you can add whatever you want and in whatever quantities you want.
