We love to reinterpret famous recipes, such as this delicious Vegan Pork Belly with Garlic Fried Rice.
The #meatfree pork belly was made with VEGGOFIX PORKY, based on a recipe of Sauce Stache.
Vegan Pork Belly with Garlic Fried Rice
recipe for 4 servings
Ingredients
“Meat”: 200 g VEGGOFIX PORKY mix, 250 ml water, w/ spices (chili, thyme, fennel, clove).
 “Fat”: 30 g tapioca starch, 30 g glutinous rice flour, 250 ml water, 1tbsp salt, 1tbsp yeast extract, 3tbsp oil.
 Garlic fried rice: 300 g long grain rice and (as much as you like) peas, red bell pepper, spring onions, ginger, garlic, salt, oil, curry.
Preparation
Mix the ingredients for “meat” to make Porky mince mixture.
Mix the ingredients for “fat” and boil them for 5 minutes.
Put baking paper in steaming container.
Layer the “meat” and “fat” as follows:
Layer 1 (half of “fat”)
Layer 2 (half of Porky mince)
Layer 3 (one forth of “fat”)
Layer 4 (last half of Porky mince)
Layer 5 (last part of “fat”)
Compress the layers together with a small pan or something similar.
Cook in steamer for 20 minutes.
Cool for at least 3 hours in the fridge.
Slice the vegan pork belly in small bites and fry them with 1-2 tbsp of oil.
Boil the rice and fry it with the rest of the ingredients.
